About the Tasmanian Government Directory Service
The Government Directory Service (GDS) has been established as the single directory of information for the Tasmanian Government, its Agencies, services and functions.
The GDS provides a user-friendly web-based service and offers an extensive range of on-line search capabilities. These powerful capabilities provide users with maximum flexibility to locate the required information.
The specific type of information available within the GDS includes:
- Service information - contact and location information for Government services.
- Corporate information - structure, roles and functions of Government Agencies and location details.
- Resource information - location of Government resources - eg. meeting rooms.
If any GDS information displayed about you such as your name, your role or your telephone number is incorrect, you can request its update by using the Change Details form (which is available at the foot of your personal details display page).
Enhanced features
GDS now provides the following enhanced feature that make using GDS that much easier:
- Click to E-mail - users may initiate and address e-mails simply by a "mouse-click" on a highlighted e-mail address
Features under development
- Short Messaging Service - text messages may be sent to GDS listed mobile phones and pagers (Government users only - this is available via a username and password in some Agencies now).
